With the purchase of a Small Diameter Adapter Kit a larger-range of Helix Outer Diameters are able to be manufactured on this machine, starting from a tiny 50mm (2") up to 200mm (8") Outer Diameter.
At the 200mm (8") Outer Diameter point is where the HF1 MD HD-U machine's usual smallest OD helix would begin.

Plate thicknesses:
Up to 50mm (2") in Mild Carbon Steel Grade 250, and Stainless-Steel.
Up to 25mm (1") in Hardox 450/500HB (TUF) and other Abrasion Resistant material plates.

This machine is ideal for OEM’S and "Grocery" type firms due to giving an extensive range of Helix diameters, and with the added power and ability to cold-form Hardox450/500HB (TUF), Abrasion and Corrosion Resistant material blanks in thicknesses up to those shown above.

Perfect for manufacturing large Screw Conveyors, Horizontal and Vertical Drilling Augers, large Screw Piles, Snow Blowers, Agriculture Augers, and numerous other larger sized, hard material helices which are used for a rigorous range of challenging applications.

Guidance above is subject to the conditions and limitations below:

  • Indicated machine ranges are based on 250Mpa Yield Strength Plate and the Range of sizes will be affected by the varying Grades of material used
  • Maximum Pitch is a function of the diameter to fit the shaft, and is limited accordingly
  • Extended Diameter and Pitch Range may be achieved if the Flange width is less than 25% of the diameter of the plate
  • Pitch may be limited by the material thickness which may be too thin to hold the correct form
  • Forming Abrasion Resistant material may require special high-wear 600HBW hard Forming Plates
  • Forming of Abrasion Resistant material may be limited by the forming force of the machine, the limitations in pitch due to the increased spring back of the material being used, and the limitations of the material to stretch during Forming without causing unwanted cracking
  • The maximum achievable Plate Thickness is subject to both the pitch to shaft diameter ratio, and the maximum flange width cross-sectional area, for the respective machine being used

A Small Diameter Adaptor Kit is available for the
HF1 MD series
of machines. This gives an extended range of Helices that can be formed down to a tiny 50mm (2") Outer Diameter (OD), up to 200mm (8") OD, which is where the smallest OD size of the HF1 MD series of machines usually starts.
